The College of Humanities and Law held the "Bohai Wind" Graduate Academic Culture Season — the "Afternoon Tea with Mentors and Peers" session for International Chinese Language Education on May 8, 2026. Associate Professor Liang Kun of the School of Artificial Intelligence at Tianjin University of Science & Technology was invited to deliver a lecture titled "From Tool to Partner: Exploring and Reflecting on AI Empowerment in Teaching and Research".
In the lecture, Professor Liang Kun drew on her research interests and practical achievements in intelligent science, AI technology applications and educational informatization, and from the perspectives of interdisciplinary integration and technology-enabled innovation, offered professional guidance on restructuring teaching content, optimizing teaching processes, innovating teaching methods, transforming educational models and upgrading teacher-student interaction. She systematically explained how AI can empower education and teaching, and how core AI technologies such as large language models and knowledge graphs can be deeply integrated with international Chinese language education scenarios.
Professor Liang shared typical cases of AI-assisted teaching and intelligent research tools, and pointed out that international Chinese language education should rely on AI technologies to build digital resource libraries, standardized video libraries and intelligent information databases, and to promote educational model upgrades through smart classrooms and human-machine collaborative teaching, achieving a transition from "technological tool" to "intelligent partner". She stressed that in an era of human-machine symbiosis, educators must hold fast to the essence of education and highlight the irreplaceable value of education.
